Backpacking in Kluane National Park – Cottonwood Trail
The Cottonwood trail is a beautiful trail where we will enjoy the pristine wilderness.
5 days/4 nights
The Cottonwood Trail starts at Mush Lake Road. The trail passes through stands of spruce and poplar; crosses two mountain passes and follows through open meadows. The last day, we hike along the beautiful Kathleen Lake. For the adrenalin thirsty, the highlight of this trail may be the adventurous creek crossings. A variety of wildlife including Dall sheep, mountain goat, grizzly and black bear, ptarmigan, owl, moose and others inhabit the area. There are no bridge on this trail so hikers must be prepared to wade creeks in order to cross.
